Company receives Highly Commended in Technology Company of the Year after being shortlisted in two categories

Cambridge, UK – 4colors Research, a Cambridge-based company specializing in advanced mathematical optimization and quantum computing, has been awarded Highly Commended in the Technology Company of the Year category at the 2026 Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards. The award was presented at Hinxton Hall on May 7th.

4colors Research was shortlisted as a finalist in two categories: AI Company of the Year and Technology Company of the Year. The Technology Company of the Year category was sponsored by the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University.

The Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards celebrate exceptional achievements in the Cambridge region's science and technology sectors. Now in their ninth year, the awards recognize companies and individuals making a significant impact across life sciences, technology, and innovation.

This recognition follows a transformational year for 4colors Research, which included winning the Airbus-BMW Quantum Computing Challenge, being named a semifinalist in the $5M XPRIZE Quantum Applications competition sponsored by Google Quantum AI, and securing contracts with Airbus, the UK Space Agency, and the National Quantum Computing Centre.
